Literature reflects society and social relations, transforms everyday language, and evokes emotions in the reader. It is also a testimony to the life of the author. Good literature can bring us face to face with perennial questions of humanity.

The following selection is based solely on personal preferences. It includes mostly English and German texts, but also some international texts worth remembering.

I have also included a section on art, which may be expanded in the future.
